Young and not so young customers at Trotter’s Bar in Puerto Pollensa had great fun on the evening of August 15th when the bar held a “hat theme” night.

Everyone turned up in a selection of amazing creations and joined in the spirit of the fun evening. There was a trivia quiz on a hat theme (eg Who had a hit with “Wherever I lay my hat”? and “In what book did the Mad Hatter’s tea party feature’) and a prize for the best children’s hat.

Contenders in this competition are pictured above with the winner Elliot Taylor featuring fourth from left. Elliot, from Newton Abbot in Devon, had spent all day making his “straw hat”, painstakingly stitching each drinking straw to a sunhat base, and his first prize in the competition was a great bonus to his 12th birthday which he was celebrating the following day.
