Christmas Shoebox Appeal Print
Wednesday, 10 October 2007

Salvatex, the Salvation Army charity shop in Calle Mendez Nuñez, Pto Pollensa, is once again launching its Christmas shoebox appeal in aid of the children in the Llar de menors childrens home in Palma.

The idea is for as many people as possible to fill a shoebox (or any similarly sized carton) with presents for one child, and in order for all the children to receive presents at Christmas the shop needs to have more than 175 such boxes, nearly twice as many as they provided last year.

If you can find time to think of these poor kids during your own busy Christmas periods, please go along to Salvatex and talk to Joy Shuckborough, or you can call her on 971 865 861 or 638 941 796. She can then tell you what sex and age of child she needs a box of presents made up for.

The boxes need to be handed in to the charity shop by the end of November as they will be handed out to the children at a party at the beginning of December.
